Wilmington Renaissance Corporation (WRC), Riverfront DevelopmentCorporation (RDC) and the City of Wilmington today announced that City Restaurant Week 2008 will be held from Monday, April 28 to Saturday, May 3. This year 10 downtown and riverfront restaurants are participating.

"Last year, City Restaurant Week brought 15,000 diners to top quality downtown and riverfront restaurants," said Carrie Gray, managing director of WRC. "This year, we expect even larger crowds that will have their pick of the greatest number of restaurants to participate yet in this, the fourth year of the event."

The week-long celebration of city restaurants will include fixed-price menus of two-course lunches for $15 and three-course dinners for $35. The participating restaurants include: Ameritage Bistro, Café Mezzanotte, CW Harborside(formerly Conley Ward's Steakhouse), Deep Blue, Domaine Hudson, Harry's Seafood Grill,Mikimotos, The Exchange, The Green Room and Washington Street Ale House.

"To sweeten the deal a bit, each restaurant will feature a signature dessert using a Baileys liqueur," said Megan McGlinchey, Director of Operations at RDC. "The specialty desserts are a perfect way to end a meal." The fixed-priced menus will be served throughout the week and although reservations are not required, they are recommended.

The Dine-Around portion of City Restaurant Week will take place on the evening of Saturday, May 3. The Dine-Around is a special evening of dining that allows participants to eat at three restaurants for three different courses-appetizer, entrée, and dessert. The cost is $60 and online reservations are required by purchasing tickets here.

Wilmington Mayor James M. Baker said City Restaurant Week continues to grow in popularity and has converted first-time or occasional diners into regular visitors at many of the participating restaurants.

"The City is very grateful to the restaurants, chefs and staff and to the public for supporting these outstanding eateries," said the Mayor. "Dining with family and friends is a perfect way to enjoy our Downtown and Riverfront Districts while celebrating growth of the dining in Wilmington."
